On 18 June 2025, we had the privilege of co-hosting an exceptional evening of exchange and insight, where the Chinese Business Chamber (CBC) and the Union des Français de l’Étranger (UFE) came together for the first time to unpack the implications of Mauritius’ 2025 national budget and the evolving geopolitical landscape.
Held at Audi Zentrum, this high-level forum brought together a powerful panel of experts across finance, law, diplomacy, and entrepreneurship. The discussions focused on:
> The budget’s impact on individuals, local businesses, and international investors
> Structural reforms and fiscal tools to boost competitiveness
> Bilateral relations between Mauritius, France, and China
> The Indo-Pacific power shifts and their implications on economic flows and supply chains
Beyond the policy talk, this event marked the beginning of a strategic alliance between two influential communities, united by a shared ambition to contribute meaningfully to Mauritius’ inclusive and sustainable development.
We thank all panelists, moderators, volunteers, and participants for turning this into a true think tank evening, where networks were built, ideas sparked, and future collaborations seeded.
Let’s keep the dialogue going — Mauritius thrives when we connect across cultures, generations, and industries.
