Dear Members and Friends of the CBC

A delegation of six members from the Chinese Business Chamber (CBC) attended a Leadership Programme in Beijing from 21st-25th October 2019. This was jointly organised by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the CBC.

The delegation was made up of David Koon Kam King – Secretary of CBC, Yan Ng Cheng Hin – Assistant Treasurer of CBC, Kate Li Kwong Wing and Jade Li – Board members of CBC, Vanessa Kon Kam King and Oliver Lee Choon – members of CBC.
The delegation held constructive meetings with the CPAFFC and the Charhar Institute (Diplomacy and International Relations), and visited companies such as Alibaba (e-Commerce and IT/AI) and Z-Innoway (Incubator for Beijing Municipality).

Investments Event
The delegates of the CBC also participated in the Africa Investments Meetings Event (the “Event”) held on 22nd October 2019 at the Great Wall Hotel Beijing. The Event was jointly organised by the China-Africa Business Council, the AMDIE, and Winvestnet to promote investment in Africa. The event was well attended by some 200 participants, including Chinese investors looking into investing into Africa, ambassadors and representatives of embassies of various African countries (Morocco, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Ghana, and Uganda). The CBC Delegates made presentation at the event to showcase Mauritius as a gateway for investments in Africa and also about the investment opportunities in Mauritius.

Course at Peking University
As part of the Programme, the CBC delegates attended a course on China’s Economic Development and Reform at Peking University.

We hope to offer this Program again in the future for our Young CBC Members with Leadership potential.
