On April 18, 2024, the Chinese Ambassador in Mauritius delivered a presentation highlighting China’s remarkable political stability and its substantial contribution its influence in Asia and worldwide.
Additionally, the Ambassador emphasized Rwanda as an emerging jurisdiction for China which may surpass Mauritius in trade. The Ambassador added that usually a visit to China leaves a lasting impact on everyone with a view to understand China better.
Furthermore, one member shared that the China Free Trade Agreement has significantly reduced their furniture business’s cost of goods.
On a very positive note, China is most willing to use Mauritius strategic position and its role as an international financial centre to leverage its business opportunities in Africa.
